  1. Awesome! Absolutely amazing pictures! I can’t wait to read about your travels. If you can’t get there yourself, then at least I get to read about it! Have a blast and keep in touch! Bon Voyage!

  2. I truly look forward to hearing about all of your crazy adventures for the next year or so! Blogging is so incredibly addicting, especially with wordpress’s ridiculously specific statistics. Keep up the good work, and congrats on living out your dreams!

  4. Wow, I just sent you this email at your work:
    “Hey Arden and Read,
I was just trading emails with Don Breece in your neck of the woods. It made me realize that it has been a while since our paths crossed and far too long since I’ve been in Salida.

How are things? Hope your riding out the tough funding climate at work and still making the weekend escapes to your cabin.”

Looks like you are doing even better than a weekend escape. Keep the pictures coming so that I can live vicariously through you while sitting at my desk.

    • Buenas noches Carsten! How are you ~ are you working at Omni again? We are doing well ~ we are in Ecuador and slowly making our way north, to Colombia next week, the Caribbean, then home to the Arkansas Valley for the summer before going to Peru this fall with the Peace Corps. Of course, things could change and are fluid. How are you, how is being a dad, how old are your kids, how is life. So good to hear from you! Hopefully we will see you this summer. Buen suerte y abrazos Arden

      • Hi Arden.
How exciting to see you’re somewhere out there exploring our planet. Cool blog! Not sure if you remember me, I was your german exchange sister in 1985 and your family took me to the Teton Mountains for the summer vacation. I often think about you guys. I live in Cape Town now. Would be great to hear from you! Christina PS: Can’t believe you still look the same as 27 years ago! WOW!

  6. Arden and Read, BV April 13

Can’t recall how to send you a direct e-mail so plz reply so we can catch up. Apologies for not immediately sending congratulations on accepting the Peru assignment. Great reading your last installment and to hear you must be back by now. We too have been on the road, returning yesterday from a month in the Aysen and Palena district’s of Chile’s Patagonia, with forays into Argentina during Chilean roadblocks that stopped fuel and food for weeks. Even ended up a couple of days in Futaleufu which Read must know of…the Aysen area is spectacular! Also visited a couple of new park projects which I may end up returning to for some volunteering in strategic planning. Sadly just before leaving on our trip we had to put Tashi to sleep, but she just wasn’t withit any longer at 15+. We have not even been into BV yet but see that very little smow has fallen this whole month but some predicted for this weekend. Please let us know when you’re expecting to be back in BV so we can plan on festivities and learning more about the PC assignments. Alan and Karen
